The Rutherford Group of Companies was established in 1981 with the formation of Rutherford Cable Repairs. Implementing a plan designed to meet the needs of the developing open cut mines, and to improve services to the underground mines in the Hunter Valley, Rutherford Cable Repairs became the foundation stone for what has now become a group of companies.

The core strength of the Group is the ability to provide a "Single Supplier Solution" to the electrical needs of the International Mining, Tunnelling, Construction, Power Supply and Heavy Industries.

Subsequent years have seen the expansion of the Group to Tomago, Emerald, Mackay, Lithgow and Mount Isa in Australia, and more recently to Singapore with the formation of Rutherford Power Asia to cover our growing international Projects business.

The Rutherford Group companies are Quality Assurance endorsed in accordance with the latest international standard ISO 9001, and have regularly been listed in the Top 500 New South Wales Companies.
